Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

I found out about a deal on boneless-skinless chicken from a company out of WA. You order chicken in bulk (40 lb increments), and you can get it for a pretty good deal ($1.49/lb). They only deliver to each area twice a year, and this was their first time to AZ.

We ordered 60 lbs worth of chicken (my parents took half of our second box). It is a pretty efficient system they have. We ordered and paid for it online. We went to the pick-up location during the allotted time frame (4 hours). We drove through, they checked off how many we bought, and then loaded it into our car for us. It took all of two minutes.

Then we spent the rest of the afternoon/evening chopping up chicken. We canned 20 lbs of it, and bagged up the other 40 lbs. We did bags of whole chicken breasts (we actually cut it in half because they were massive). Then we had bags of sliced pieces for fajitas or salads. Then we also had several bags of chopped up chicken.100_3594

It took a lot of time, but definitely worth it for the price, and for being stocked up and prepared. It also makes food prep much easier when it comes time to make dinner.

Yeah, that’s 40 lbs worth of chicken there.100_3664

Canned chicken looks disgusting, but it’s great for throwing in soups, and it tastes far better than the store bought kind. I think we ended up with 17 pint sized jars for 20 lbs of chicken.100_3663
